Challenges for the Nazarene Church?

Posted by nazarenepsalm113 on September 15, 2008

I found this video on U Tube. It was from the M-7 conference. I think Nina is being a bit disengenuous here. The Emergent Church is not a challenge to the Nazarene Denomination. Emergent is being very much accepted and promoted by the Nazarene Church. Just take a look around the Denomination’s own International website and see how it is being promoted. The word challenge’s seems or may suggest that they are still trying to figure it out.Or that the jury is still out on this verdict.
This is just not true. Emergent speakers and theology has been and is being promoted within the denomination. More to come on all the connections and how Emergent is coming in and who is involved. Then you can decide if you want to head in the same direction the International Nazarene denomination is heading.
Maybe its time to challenge the Nazarene Church on the way they are heading.

I agree wholeheartedly! I viewed this video over and over trying to make sense of it…because I had done an extensive
amount of research to realize that the Emergent church was clearly promoted within the denominations ranks. And I think people are leaving the denomination to find a place to be fed…and those churches that people are headed to are within the Reformed and Calvinist ranks. Even though the emergent virus has spread everywhere, there are a lot of Reformed and Baptist churches that are guarding their gates and holding onto the truth of Scripture and feeding their sheep with expository preaching. That’s where our family found a home after being in the Nazarene denomination for 24 years; we are now being richly fed in a baptist church.
